FAQ
About Pocho
What makes Pocho Fino Tequila a true Mexican-American tequila?
- Rooted in Mexico and raised in the U.S., Pocho Fino Tequila is made for those who live comfortably between tortillas and toaster pastries. Being Pocho isn’t being in-between – it’s being both.
- Crafted in the heart of Mexico’s tequila tradition, Pocho Fino is more than just a drink, it reflects a legacy built on real culture, shared moments and celebration. We carry centuries of Mexican tradition in our agave, but we serve it with a smile, a story and a plate of tacos at 2AM.
- Pocho Fino exists because some of us grew up with banda and Biggie on the same playlist, English and Spanish in the same sentence. For too long, the Mexican-American identity was seen as “in-between,” not fully here, not fully there. We’re here to flip that script. Being Pocho isn’t a half – it’s a double. Double flavor, double pride, double cultura.
How is Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias involved?
- Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias is the creator and co-founder of Pocho Fino Tequila – bringing his signature blend of humor, heritage and corazón to the brand as one of America’s most successful stand-up comedians.
- Pocho Fino Tequila honors Risa and Vinnie, Gabriel’s beloved dogs who have passed, as guardians of the brand – reminding us that joy, love and familia never fade.
What does Pocho Fino mean?
Pocho means “Mexican-American” and “Fino” means fine.
What expressions are available?
Pocho Fino Tequila keeps the party going hasta que salga el sol with three expressions:
- Crystal-clear and smooth, Pocho Fino Blanco Tequila (40% ABV) balances sweet cooked agave with bright citrus, tropical fruit, and a hint of earth and black pepper. The finish is clean and lightly sweet, elevated enough for a fine glass, pero real enough to pair perfectly with late-night eats.
- Candied watermelon meets fresh lime and jalapeño in Pocho Fino Mexican Candy (35% ABV). It’s sweet, spicy and citrusy – like
your hermana with the karaoke mic. - As sweet, smoky and smooth as your tío’s dance moves after midnight, Pocho Fino Grilled Pineapple (35% ABV) features grilled piña caramelized to perfection, kissed with a touch of hickory smoke and finished with the clean sweetness of agave.

Tequila Process
Where does the agave come from?
Our agave grows in the heart of the Tequila Valley in Jalisco, a region recognized around the world for exceptional Blue Weber agave. Volcanic soil. High elevation. Just enough sun, just enough cool night air. That balance lets the agave mature slowly, building natural sweetness and layered flavor over time.Think low and slow, like carne asada done right.
Nothing rushed. Nothing forced. Just agave grown the way it’s supposed to be.
What type of agave is used?
Blue Weber Agave
What is the tequila's production process?
- Pocho Fino is rooted in the Tequila region of Jalisco, Mexico. This is sacred ground. Where agave meets volcanic soil. Where tradition isn’t a trend, it’s a birthright.
- Our distilling story traces back to tequila makers who have worked this land since the mid-1800s. Generations of hands, sunburned and steady. Knowledge passed down the old-school way. With patience. With pride. With respeto for the agave.
- This is where our story begins. In the soil. In the heat. In the quiet confidence of people who don’t need to rush greatness because they’ve been doing this their whole lives.
- Hecho en Jalisco. Raised with U.S. spirit. Double roots. Double pride.
- See additional information HERE.
How is the agave harvested?
- Skilled jimadores harvest each agave by hand, using traditional tools to cut only fully mature plants. No shortcuts. No guesswork.
- The heart of the plant, the piña, is selected at peak ripeness, when the sugars are rich and the flavor is ready to shine. It’s craftsmanship you can taste.
How are the agave pinas cooked?
- The agave piñas are slowly cooked in traditional ovens, gently transforming natural sugars and building depth, warmth, and character into the spirit.
- This is where smoothness starts. Not flashy. Not forced. Just patient heat doing what it’s done for generations.
What is the fermentation and distillation process?
- Fermentation happens in open environments, where native yeasts and time shape the aroma and flavor naturally. This is where personality shows up. Where science meets soul. Where you let the process breathe and trust it to do its thing. No shortcuts. Nunca.
- Our Blanco Tequila is double-distilled in copper alembics, refining the spirit while preserving the true essence of the agave. Clean. Bright. Smooth with backbone. Refined enough to sip neat. Real enough to pour at 2AM with tacos.
What happens after the tequila is distilled in Mexico?
- Once complete, our Blanco tequila makes its journey north to the U.S., where it’s bottled with the same care and intention it was crafted with in Mexico.
- Rooted in Jalisco. Bottled with U.S. spirit. A cultural bridge in every bottle.
How are the flavors made?
- Everything starts with our Blanco Tequila. From there, we blend in natural flavors in the U.S. before bottling.
- Mexican Candy brings that sweet heat you remember from childhood. Grilled Pineapple tastes like it just came off the grill, bright, juicy, and smooth all the way through.
